This video presents a suite of techniques to reduce repetition in graphical editing, which were formally documented in D.J. Kurlander's 1992 PhD thesis, "Graphical Editing by Example". These five techniques are "demonstrational", meaning they all work by example (not by conventional programming). The five techniques presented in this video are: graphical search and replace, constraint-based search and replace, constraints from multiple snapshots, editable graphical histories, and graphical macros by example. All five of these techniques were implemented in the Chimera graphical editor.
